EGE Level Controller PTFE and PEEK are here the preferred materials because they prevent adhesions. Opto-fill sensors with glass or PSU tips do not require a medium adjustment and are simply added to the tank. These sensors are also available as explosion-proof units in accordance with ATEX. Ultrasonic sensors, pressure controllers, or the capacitive high-temperature measuring probe KFA continuously monitor and log fill levels.
Core Operational Functions
Continuous Level Tracking: Provides real-time level evaluation using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR guided microwave) or capacitive field detection, outputting linear 4-20 mA signals to PLCs and SCADA networks.
Point-Level & Limit Detection: Acts as high- or low-level limit switches (capacitive, conductive, or optoelectronic) to trigger immediate interlocks when fluids reach critical thresholds.
Pump & Valve Automation: Drives automated tank filling or emptying cycles using dual setpoints (hysteresis control) to start pumps at low level and stop them at high level.
Overfill & Dry-Run Protection: Prevents pump cavitation by shutting off feed systems when levels drop below minimum limits, while preventing tank spills by cutting inlet valves at maximum fill capacity.
Media-Specific Compensation: Filters out background buildup, foaming, or splashing on probe surfaces (especially in sticky liquids, pastes, or bulk powders) to prevent false switching.
