Description

Honda HD500 Ultrasonic Level Meter

Honda HD500 Ultrasonic Level Meter is a high-precision, long-range non-contact liquid level measuring system designed for continuous monitoring in deep storage tanks, industrial sumps, chemical reservoirs, and water treatment channels. Manufactured by Honda Electronics Co., Ltd., the Honda HD500 Ultrasonic Level Meter features a powerful acoustic transducer and digital processor engineered to measure extended fluid distances without physical contact. Equipped with automatic temperature compensation, intelligent echo filtering, a digital LCD interface, and standard 4–20mA output, it provides low-maintenance level telemetry for large-scale industrial and municipal facilities.

Honda HD500 Ultrasonic Level Meter transmitted from the sensor is reflected back from the measured object, and the distance is calculated based on the echo return time.  This makes it possible to perform operations such as measuring the liquid level inside a tank or monitoring the remaining amount of materials in a tank.

Technical Overview & Operation

The Honda HD500 Ultrasonic Level Meter operates on the acoustic time-of-flight (ToF) principle. Positioned above the maximum liquid surface, the high-output transducer emits ultrasonic pulses downward into the vessel space.

When the acoustic pulse strikes the fluid surface, it reflects back to the transducer face. The internal microprocessor calculates the exact transit time  of the returning echo and determines the surface distance using acoustic velocity. Integrated temperature sensors automatically compensate for air temperature variations within the vessel headspace. Advanced echo-processing algorithms filter out false reflections caused by internal tank agitators, structural supports, wall seams, or surface turbulence. Product documentation and calibration details can be accessed via Honda Electronics support channels.
