Description of Valve Safety Relief 50B-4KG1

The Cla?Val Model 50B?4KG1 (globe) or 2050B?4KG1 (angle) is a pilot?controlled pressure relief valve specifically designed for fire protection systems. Its primary function is to maintain constant pressure in the pump outlet line during startup and when pressure loads change rapidly. When water demand decreases, the valve opens to divert the pump output to the outlet, allowing the pump to be shut off without causing pressure surges in the system.

Features

  • Automatic pilot control maintains stable outlet pressure even when demand changes.
  • Quick opening & slow closing prevents surging and allows for drip-tight re-seating within ±5% of the set-point pressure.
  • Dual driven spindle & replaceable stainless steel seat ensure reliability and easy maintenance.
  • Flanged connection for high-pressure systems: ANSI 150# or 300# flanges are available for sizes between 2”–10”.
  • Epoxy coating on wetted surfaces (optional) enhances corrosion resistance.
  • Compliance with UL/ULC/FM/ABS standards and can be certified as anti-cavitation (KOL model).
