Gastec 2000 Gas pack The GASTEC gas pack is for determining the presence of nitrogen dioxide at the work place. Essentially, it samples the air in a certain area for longer periods enabling the concentration of any NO2 in the air to be ascertained by examining the degree of colouration of a liquid reagent. It is not susceptible to the effects of wind velocity, temperature, humidity, etc.

Gastec 2000 Gas Pack (often referenced alongside the Gastec Gas Sampling System or Gastec 2000 Portable Kit) is a compact, portable field measurement system designed for on-the-spot gas detection and occupational safety monitoring.

It utilizes Gastec Colorimetric Detector Tubes paired with a precision hand-drawn piston sampling pump (such as the standard GV-100 or GV-110 series) to safely draw and analyze gas samples in hazardous or remote environments.

Core System Components

• Precision Piston Sampling Pump: A hand-operated, cylinder vacuum pump (typically 100mL volume per stroke) that pulls exact, reproducible air samples across the colorimetric tube.

• Colorimetric Detector Tubes: Sealed glass tubes containing chemical reagents specific to target gases. Air drawn through the tube causes a color change proportional to gas concentration, readable directly off printed graduation scales.

• Integrated Tube Tip Breaker: Built-in mechanical cutter on the pump head for safely snapping the glass sealed ends off detector tubes prior to insertion.

• Sampling Accessories: Typically includes extension hoses, hot probes, filter washers, carrying cases, and leak-check caps for confined space or chimney stack testing.
