Brainchild IO-8AII Modbus IO Module

Brainchild IO-8AII Modbus IO Module IO-8AII Current Input Module by Brainchild with RS-485 interface. For use with HMI, PLC or SCADA via Modbus RTU protocol.

Each channel has a connection terminals and an LED status indicator channel. Uses the Brainchild PC software IO Studio to configure communication with the module. The module housing is plastic with DIN rail mounting.

Core Functional Highlights

High Channel-to-Channel Isolation: Features $1000\text{ Vrms}$ optical isolation between input channels to prevent ground loops and eliminate noise interference in harsh industrial environments.
4–20 mA Wire Break Detection: Built-in diagnostic registers detect sensor loop wire breaks or transmitter power loss when configured for $4\text{ to }20\text{ mA}$ mode.
Front-Panel LED Status: Includes LED indicators for logic power, CPU status, RS-485/Ethernet communication traffic, and individual channel fault conditions.
Configuration via IO Studio: Easily configured using Brainchild’s free IO Studio software for setting Modbus slave ID, communication parameters, input ranges, and scaling offsets.
