Description
Gastec CM-7B Carbon Monoxide Detector
Gastec CM-7B Comes with a controlled potential electrolysis sensor. Carbon monoxide detector employs a highly sensitive controlled potential electrolysis method used for electrochemical analysis. It is able to accurately detect even the faintest amount of carbon monoxide.
Gastec CM-7B Carbon Monoxide Detector is a compact, high-precision portable gas monitor engineered for continuous personal and ambient carbon monoxide ($CO$) tracking in industrial plant environments, boiler rooms, steel mills, and underground utility vaults. Designed and manufactured by Gastec Corporation, the Gastec CM-7B Carbon Monoxide Detector utilizes an advanced electrochemical sensor cell to deliver rapid, reliable detection of toxic $CO$ gas concentrations. Featuring audible, visual, and vibration alarms, a clear digital LCD screen, and rugged weather-resistant construction, it provides life-saving safety protection for workers in hazardous areas.
Technical Overview & Operation
The Gastec CM-7B Carbon Monoxide Detector operates on an electrochemical sensor cell principle specifically calibrated for toxic carbon monoxide gas molecules. Ambient air diffuses through a protective sensing membrane into an internal electrolyte solution.
When carbon monoxide is present, an oxidation reaction occurs at the sensing electrode, generating an electrical current directly proportional to the CO concentration in parts per million (ppm). The internal microprocessor processes this signal in real time, displaying instantaneous gas concentrations on a high-contrast backlit LCD screen. If atmospheric $CO$ levels exceed pre-set safety thresholds (such as 25 ppm for low alarm or 50ppm for high alarm), the unit immediately triggers a tri-mode alarm system comprising a high-decibel audible horn, intense flashing LEDs, and a tactile vibration motor.
